✨ December at Skip Sketch Studio — Cozy Creativity & Winter Whimsy ✨

December arrives like a soft page turn — a month of warm lights, quiet pockets of reflection, and tiny sparks of inspiration tucked between the colder days. Inside Skip Sketch Studio, we’re ending the year with gratitude, small stories, and gentle magic from across the Studio Verse.

Settle in with something warm… here’s what’s happening this month. ❄️✨

🎨 Featured Artist of the Month — Reuben

This December, we’re honored to shine a soft spotlight on Reuben, an artist whose work carries both tenderness and truth. For him, art is a way of releasing the weight he carries:

When I doodle, my ugliest parts are leaving me through my pencil.
— Reuben

December is often a difficult month for him, and creating art for others brings him a sense of connection and light. His featured piece, Path, shows a turtle, a dragonfly, and a butterfly — each traveling in its own direction. It’s a quiet reminder that there is no single right way forward. We all move at our own pace, in our own way.

🌙 A Little Whisper About What’s Coming…

We’re quietly preparing something new — a monthly creative spark called Odd Rush. It will officially begin in February, giving us time to craft it with care.

Odd Rush will be a tiny, cozy moment of inspiration each month:

✨ a soft prompt

✨ an invitation to play

✨ a shared creative breath

More soon… but February is already humming with ideas.

📦 December Society Posts — From Across the Studio Verse

The Skip Sketch Studio Verse is alive with winter stories this month — each Society following its own strange little path through the snow. If you listen closely, you can almost hear them…

🐾 Mini Monster Menagerie

In the Menagerie, December always smells faintly of peppermint and mischief. The Peppermint Piasa has waddled into town again — a sweet-toothed creature famous for taking hot chocolate showers and leaving candy-cane steam drifting behind it.

Members who follow the mini monster trails will find a their own Peppermint Piasa tucked inside their December Society Post 🐾

🦊 Curious Creatures Club

Somewhere between the first snow and the quiet of early morning, the Club’s magical tree appears — its tiny doors glowing warmly. This month, a fox wrapped in a scarf has been spotted beneath its branches, staring at the snowfall as if searching for an answer only the winter knows.

Each December Society Post for the Curious Creatures Club includes their own scarved fox — a small window into the Club’s enchanting world.🦊

🍄The Gnome Post

Deep in the pine forests, Postmaster Inkbeard Vell has recorded another winter crossing — a gnome carrying a bundle that jingled softly with ornament bells. A glowing tree sits atop this gnome’s head, and the fresh scent of pine trails behind him.

Somewhere between his cool pine and warm lantern light, he leapt into the December Society Post for our Gnome Post lovers.🍄

✨ What Makes a Society Post Special

Every month, each Society receives a lovingly curated envelope filled with theme-inspired treasures — art, tiny keepsakes, and surprises wrapped gently in tissue paper.

It’s a small ritual for $8/month… but one that feels like opening a story.

If you sign up before December 31, your adventure begins with January’s Society Post — a fresh start to a new year of magic.

🛍️ Shop Notes

  • December prints will become available à la carte in January.

  • November subscription pieces are now available in the shop this month.

A lovely way to catch up on pieces you missed ✨

❄️ A Gentle Close to the Year

Thank you for being here — for reading, for sketching, for collecting, for choosing to be part of this cozy little world we’re building. December is a month for warm drinks, soft light, and art that feels like a sigh of relief.

Here’s to a new year of creativity, wonder, magic, and stories waiting to be discovered.

We’re so grateful you’re part of the Studio Verse. 💜✨
