Where the Daydream Begins

A glimpse at the studio mid-process — where every color and brushstroke starts as a small daydream.

Painting In Progress:

Notes from our studio table — paint-splattered, tea-stained, and full of wonder.

There’s a special kind of quiet that settles in when the first layer of paint goes down.

It’s the sound of ideas taking shape — the hush between the messy start and the “I think it’s becoming something.”

This beetle began as a doodle in a sketchbook corner. I liked its symmetry, the way the greens felt alive. Now, as it starts to grow on canvas, the whole space hums a little — jars of brushes, the smell of paint, a mug of cold coffee on the edge of the table (always).

This is what the in-between looks like: not quite finished, not quite figured out. Just becoming.

I think that’s why I started the Daydream Journal — to share the in-between moments.

Not the polished prints or the final pieces (though they have their place), but the daily rhythm of the studio — the scraps of ideas, the experiments, the “what ifs.”

If you’ve ever wondered what’s happening behind the scenes at Skip Sketch Studio, this is it:

paint tubes, half-formed thoughts, and a quiet promise that every daydream deserves a little time to grow wings.

Thanks for stopping by. 🖤

Until next time,

— The Skip Sketch Studio Team
